Valentine’s Day: Is Your Significant Other Cheating on You?

There’s a lot talk surrounding Valentine’s Day. What gifts to get your significant other, where to go out, and how important the day really is for a relationship.

Even so, one aspect of the special day that often isn’t talked about is the infidelity aspect of it and how many people actually cheat during Cupid’s day.

To help us understand this, I sat down with Detective Gomez, a private investigator in Dallas, Texas, and the co-founder of PI Spy Tools.

What would you consider are the top signs someone is cheating?

As a Private Investigator that specializes in infidelity, I have seen it all. The top signs of cheating that people want to look out for are changes in a person’s normal behavior, partner being distant (especially emotionally), and lack of physical intimacy in the relationship.

These changes tend to be very subtle at the beginning but partners should take careful note of whether these behaviors are happening continuously and/or if they are getting worse as time goes on. These are some of the top signs a partner should look out for in their marriage or relationship if they suspect infidelity.

Are particular tools that people can use to spot a cheater?

The top spy tools people use to catch their spouse/partner cheating are GPS trackers, phone software (forensics recovery software), digital audio recorders, and hidden cameras.

GPS trackers are always my first tool of choice as they will usually tell you a lot about a person’s day-to-day activity, which is what you want to take note of, if you do suspect that your partner is being unfaithful. Unfaithful partners will usually meet up with their lovers regularly and GPS trackers will give you clear answers as to where your partner is and has been.

Do people tend to cheat more in Valentines Day?

Yes, absolutely. Valentine’s Day is the day of love. Unfaithful spouses not only have to take care of their main partner but they will have to take care of their “lover” as well. This leads to changes in their daily routine in the days surrounding Valentine’s Day, which leaves many opportunities for people to catch their unfaithful partners during the week of and after Valentine’s Day.

How did you get into the detective business?

I am former law enforcement for Dallas. As someone who enjoys serving citizens, private investigation allows me to do so in a private capacity. I want to help people get the answers they need to move forward with their lives.

What would you say is your most valuable advice to spot a cheater?

Pay attention (in detail) to what your partner is saying and doing. Make sure you listen carefully to what your partner is stating, especially about their daily schedule. If you listen carefully, your spouse will likely slip up at some point or something won’t click with their story. These are the red flags you want to be on the lookout for.

You have experience working in the entertainment business, what was it like working for the TV Series, Cheaters?

Working with the TV Series “Cheaters” was very exciting but difficult at times. It is hard seeing all of the heartbreak that comes with infidelity but it is rewarding being able to help people find the answers they need to move forward with their lives. Working with different clients to help them find out the truth to their relationship, i.e. find out whether their spouse is cheating, is my passion in my life. I truly enjoy my line of work and I’m looking forward to being back in the entertainment area of my professional career soon.
