It is extremely interesting, and in some sense entertaining, how popular the Latino community has become in the past few years. Regarding politics, we’ve become the popular kid in school that everyone wants to hang out with. In the business community, we’re the really attractive girl that every boy wants to talk to and grab her attention. Needless to say, Latinos in this country have not only been the coolest trend recently, but the necessary one to be successful and thrive in this ever-changing growing society.
When it comes to sports and entertainment, the Latino trend seems to be of equal importance, but for whatever reason, the sports world doesn’t seem to publicize this as much as the other topics mentioned above. Of course, you have sports marketers that see the potential in the Latino market, and the revenue they can generate, but that really falls under the business/economy category, not the true nature of sports
There are some sports outlets that have established channels and platforms that reach the Spanish-speaking communities, but those don’t reach the Latino-American audience that these other entities have targeted. ESPN Deportes and FOX Deportes are two prime examples of sports-media giants who have attempted to reach out to the Latino community and have done a fair job of doing so. The problem is, they’re only targeting and reaching out to Spanish-speaking Latinos.
For this reason and many others, I am happy to announce and introduce LATINO GIANT SPORTS, which will give U.S. Latinos a place to learn about sports around the country and the world, and will tell the beautiful story of sports through the U.S. Latino’s voice. Through the well-known and established Latino Giant brand, LATINO GIANT SPORTS will be designated to empower and motivate Latinos across the United States using the one thing we all love: sports.
